Waterproof Ratings System

Many manufacturer seems to have their own definition of what constitutes "waterproof", we wanted to present you with a simple way to compare the level of water-tightness across products and manufacturers.

You will see these rating images together with each product image inside My Waterproof Case. These ratings in no way constitute a guarantee from us at My Waterproof Case, but rather they take the various manufacturer claims, and present them all together on one common sliding scale... Class 1 being the least waterproof, and class 3 being the greatest. 

Our waterproof class rating definitions are as follows

	Splash Proof Withstands rain and light splashing Suitable for hiking and camping activities Not designed for prolonged exposure to heavy rain or for submersion
	Watertight Withstands quick submersions and will float if dropped in the water Suitable for sailing and activities on or around water Not designed for prolonged submersion
	Submersible Withstands submersions of 5m / 15ft for at least 30 minutes Suitable for swimming and snorkeling Not designed for submersion beyond 5m / 15ft.
